Not all mushrooms expand overnight; some increase really slowly but surely and include tissue for their fruiting bodies by increasing from the sides of the colony or by inserting hyphae. By way of example, Pleurotus nebrodensis grows slowly and gradually, and for this reason combined with human selection, now it is critically endangered.[22] Mushr
